  • Local 19 Employment Opportunities

    Local 19 consists of 4 distinct hiring areas. Alaska, Montana, Seattle-The greater Puget Sound Area and Spokane- East of Snoqualmie Pass to the Montana border. Vancouver Washington is covered by Local 23 which is all of Oregon. Local 19's membership in these areas is approximately,

    Alaska ; 40  (32 Mechanics, 8 Apprentices)

    Montana 47  (36 Mechanics, 11 Apprentices)

    Spokane 85  (70 Mechanics, 15 Apprentices)

    Seattle 740 (440 Mechanics, 300 Apprentices)

    Applications are only for the area that is open and not transferrable to any other area or local. You can apply to as many areas within Local 19 and the United States that you are willing to accept work. With our apprenticeship taking four and a half years minimum to complete it is easy to see that opportunities can be limited in the outlying areas.

    The hiring process is the same for all areas and is outlined on the NEIEP website. 


     The applications that were submitted for the apprenticeship in Alaska 2020 are now being scheduled for testing with interviews to happen in July 2021.                                                                                                                                      https://www.neiep.org/Careers.aspx


     The applications are now open . Applications will be available only during the 21 day opening in August with testing in September and interviews in October.   Ranked applicants on the current hiring have been invited to re interview to be on the next list. You will not have to retake the aptitude test, it is a one time test and is good for all locals/areas.
